The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southwestern Caroline County in north central Virginia...
  Northwestern Hanover County in central Virginia...

* Until 830 PM EDT.

* At 755 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 7 miles south of Ladysmith to near Montpelier,
  moving east at 25 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and powerlines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Ashland, Bowling Green, Randolph Macon College, Milford, Dawn,
  Kings Dominion, Montpelier, Golansville, Oliver, Vontay, Gum Tree,
  Coatesville, Hewlett, Goodall, Doswell, Elmont, Penola, Noel,
  Rockville, and Gilman.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are 
occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is 
one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, 
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
