This is a 12 hour forecast from March 13th 1993 for March 14th at 6pm

Questions for Part II

  1. What is the lowest pressure?


  2. Analyze where the warm front is and place it on the map.


  3. Analyze the cold front, and again place it on the map.


  4. Is there an occluded front? IF there is, then again, place it on the map.


  5. Find the 5400 meter 1000-500 mb thickness line ("the 540 line"). Trace over this line with an orange pencil. Be careful and precise as possible.


  6. What type of precipitation will most likely occur in New York City at this time, if this forecast veriefies?


  7. What are the wind direction in Chicago? Place a wind barb to show the winds in Chicago (the speed is 20 knots).


  8. With this situation, no precipitation was occuring in central or southern Florida. Why not? For a clue, please see the Storm of the Century satellite pictures in the archive section of the Nexlab Web Page.
