Posting a Forecast to the COD Web page

Serious meteorology students and students in Earth Science 1116, 1117, 2116, and 2117 are required to occasionally posts forecasts. In addition to posting their forecast to the discussion group, students should also post their forecast onto the web for everyone to see. What good is a forecast that nobody sees?

Before for you start you should read the page on Forecast Format.


Please be aware of the different options there are for the student forecast!!!

To Sumit a New Forecast Online:

1. Go to the following webpage using Mozilla/Firefox or Internet Explorer. http://weather.cod.edu/fcst/newforecast.cgi

2. Enter your user name and password. If you do not have a user name and/or password email us to obtain one. You may also use that address for help if you forget your password.

3. When the page comes up, using capital letters enter in the data for your forecast. Don't leave anything blank!

4. After you have entered in all of your forecast and discussion, hit the "submit" button located at the bottom of the page.

5. Lastly, check the following address to make sure the information you entered posted to the web page correctly. http://weather.cod.edu/cgi-bin/viewforecast.cgi


To Edit the Current Forecast:

1. Go to the following webpage using Mozilla/Firefox or Internet Explorer. http://weather.cod.edu/fcst/updateforecast.cgi

2. Enter your user name and password. If you do not have a user name and/or password email email us to obtain one. You may also use that address for help if you forget your password.

3. Make the appropriate changes to the text boxes.

4. Hit the "submit" button located at the bottom of the page.

5. Lastly, check the following address to make sure the information you entered posted to the web page correctly. http://weather.cod.edu/cgi-bin/viewforecast.cgi
