College of DuPage Storm Chases
1991
The 1991 Season was one of the best for many storm chasers and
the College of DuPage team was no exception. It started with
twin tornadoes in Plainview, TX, as one was roping out and the new one
was forming in the new wall cloud. There was another great storm with fantastic
mid level structure, striations, and color, but with no surface inflow, it eventually gusted itself out in Childress, TX. And then, the storm
of storms, the chase of chases wound up with a beautiful tornado in
Woodard/Mooreland, Oklahoma. Paul Sirvatka will have that story
shortly and I will have the pictures from all this ASAP.
For now, here is one picture of the Woodward, OK tornado taken by
COD student Mike Falout. May 26, 1991
