| Sam Augustyn & Matt Piechota; April 1996 Illinois Outbreak |
Hello everyone! We would like to invite you to our next meeting, which will likely be our last meeting of the semester. On Tuesday, April 16th, Sam Augustyn and Matt Piechota will be speaking on the April 1996 Illinois tornado outbreak. This outbreak produced more than 30 tornadoes in this state alone, over 100 overall, and was the most prolific outbreak in this state's history. It will be a very interesting case study indeed.
Sam and Matt have been part of the College of DuPage meteorology program in one way or another for many years now. You may also remember them from the talk they gave last November on the Chicago blizzard of 2011 (a.k.a. the Groundhog's Day Blizzard). They are excellent at breaking down and analyzing past weather events, and their upcoming presentation will certainly be engaging and informative.
We hope that you'll be able to make it out for our April meeting. Sam and Matt's talk will be on Tuesday, April 16th at 7:00PM in room BIC-3504 (the classroom). See you there!
